First day of First Grade and Last First day of Preschool!

These "First Day" mornings are met with such an awkward mix of excitement and a torn heart.  Ella came running out into the drive way to blow kisses to Vivian as I drove her to her last first day of preschool.  Viv, so excited for her backpack upgrade (goodbye little green frog) leaped into her classroom and was eager to begin; spelling both her first and last name.  Ella will have to navigate her first day without many of her close friends.  She wore her jean jacket anxiously despite the stifling humidity and heat. I have no doubt these nerves will be erased by 10:00 a.m.  Summer has arrived...and it's the first day of school.  As the children processed into the building, August-weary parents cheered and clinked coffee cups.  Another year is upon us.
