My social calendar this weekend was completely driven by my five year old. She had two birthday parties on Saturday. I hear from the hosts that Ella had a powerful swing and nearly gutted the pinata. In fact, they suggested Little League try-outs. She gathered the candy like a rabid squirrel and according to Joey's Dad, tripled the loot of the other party goers. She told him that she had to bring some home for Viv. On Sunday, we declared it a "Family Day" and drove to Lincoln Park to get in a visit with the animals. It was so nice to have the zoo to ourselves. There were only a few more "crazies" out enduring the temps.
This reminds me of the time a long, long time ago when your mom and dad took Pete and me to the Brookfield zoo. I have a picture of the two-year-old Pete in the aquarium area crying his eyes out because a dolphin had swam up to the underwater window and was looking at him. I will have to dig out that picture and share it.
